 2017 Preview 


       Theodore completed the 2016 season with a 5-5 record. Last year Theodore just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 7A region one with a 4-4 region record.

       Since 2010, Theodore has gone a combined 27-43. Their 39.0% winning percentage ranks 24th in Class 7A over the past seven seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Theodore has managed to compile a record of 157-117. Their 57.0% winning percentage ranks 14th in Class 7A and 108th in the AHSAA.

       The Bobcats are led by head coach Eric Collier who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 16-25 over the past four seasons at Theodore. Under his direction the Bobcats have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Collier.

       Coach Collier's overall record as a head football coach in eight season stands at 26-55 (32.1%). Over the course of his career, Coach Collier's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time .

       The Theodore Bobcats will play in Class 7A region one during the 2017 season.

       With a little luck and some improvement, the Bobcats could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region one this season. Theodore came up short of the playoffs last year but are optimistic of a return to the post season this year.

      Trevor Andrews returns for his Senior season after completing 61 of 120 passes for 904 yards and 9 touchdowns.

       The Bobcats open the 2017 season at home against non-region opponent Northridge on Friday, August 25 at C.A. Douglas Field. Last year the Northridge Jaguars finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in fifth place in Class 6A region four. The Jaguars ended last season on a positive note with a win over Central Tuscaloosa by a score of 48-13 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

       Theodore and Northridge have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Bobcats have a 2-0-0 record against the Jaguars. They last met in 2016 with Theodore winning by a score of 30-6.
