Enterprise completed the 2016 season with a 10-2 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 7A region two, the Wildcats earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. Enterprise reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to McGill-Toolen by a score of 27-23. The Wildcats won as many games as in any season since 1993. The 444 points scored by the Wildcats last year were a team record in a single season. The Wildcats hope to continue the success they had last season. Coach Faulkner saw improvement as they won ten games following a 5-6 record in 2015. The defense was very stingy last season as Enterprise ranked 21st in the AHSAA. The defense allowed only 14.5 points a game. Since 2010, Enterprise has gone a combined 41-35. Their 54.0% winning percentage ranks 17th in Class 7A over the past seven seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Enterprise has managed to compile a record of 171-115. Their 60.0% winning percentage ranks 13th in Class 7A and 90th in the AHSAA. The Wildcats are led by head coach David Faulkner who is entering his sixth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 34-22 over the past five seasons at Enterprise. Under his direction the Wildcats have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Faulkner. Coach Faulkner's overall record as a head football coach in nine season stands at 63-40 (61.2%). Over the course of his career, Coach Faulkner's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of seven times and won one region championship. The Enterprise Wildcats will play in Class 7A region two during the 2017 season. Enterprise enters the 2017 season with a string of 9 consecutive wins on their home field at Wildcat Stadium. The Wildcats should be in contention for a playoff spot in region two this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game. Koty Fulton-tice returns for his Senior season after completing 99 of 171 passes for 1,412 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also rushed for 345 yards and another 6 scores. Senior Chance Warren returns after catching 39 passes for 679 yards and 6 touchdowns. Junior Trey Robinson returns after rushing for 839 yards on 129 carries and scoring 5 touchdowns. The Wildcats open the 2017 season at home against non-region opponent Dothan on Friday, August 25 at Wildcat Stadium. Last year the Dothan Tigers finished with an overall record of 4-7 and in fourth place in Class 6A region two. The Tigers lost in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs to Blount by a score of 15-7. Enterprise and Dothan have met a total of 88 times on the football field. The Wildcats have a 46-39-3 record against the Tigers. They last met in 2016 with Enterprise winning by a score of 38-12. Enterprise returns 7A All-State Senior punter Andrew Osteen. He was named to the first team last season. The Wildcats also return Senior receiver Chance Warren. He was named to the honorable mention team.
