AHSFHS.org Report
(Oct. 22, 2016)

Week 10

The Playoffs are just around the corner! The regular season ends next week. Here are a few tidbits from this week's action.

   *  Piedmont did not play this week so their state leading winning streak stands at 19 as they try to reach their goal of another state championship in 2016 with a perfect regular season next week.

  *  Hewitt-Trussville completed the first 10-0 regular season in school history. Carroll (9-0) will be shooting for their first 10-0 season since 1930 when they take on Bayside Academy to end the regular season. Rogers (9-0) will try for the first 10-0 regular season next week against Hamilton. LaFayette (9-0) can also accomplish the first perfect 10-0 regular season next week against Notasulga.

  *  The best region in any classification? Region five in class 3A has compiled a record of 39-23. Take away their region games and they are an amazing 18-2 against outside competition.

  *  J.F. Shields mercifully ended their season with a 61-0 loss to Linden. The state record for points allowed in a season now belongs to them as they gave up 630 points in 2016 breaking the record previously held by Woodville when they allowed 622 in 2009.

   *   Teams with turnaround seasons include: Arab (1-9) to (6-4), Dale County (1-9) to (7-3), Davidson (3-7) to (8-1), Holly Pond (1-9) to (6-3), Horseshoe Bend (0-10) to (6-3), Houston County (0-10) to (6-4), Isabella (1-9) to (8-1), J.B.
