 2017 Preview 


       Hayden completed the 2016 season with a 8-3 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 5A region six, the Wildcats earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. Hayden's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Fairfield by a score of 14-7.

       Since 2010, Hayden has gone a combined 30-43. Their 41.0% winning percentage ranks 35th in Class 5A over the past seven seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Hayden has managed to compile a record of 91-167. Their 35.0% winning percentage ranks 49th in Class 5A and 318th in the AHSAA.

       The Wildcats are led by head coach Keith Register who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 18-25 over the past four seasons at Hayden. Under his direction the Wildcats have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Register.

       Coach Register's overall record as a head football coach in thirteen season stands at 65-76 (46.1%). Over the course of his career, Coach Register's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of seven times .

       The Hayden Wildcats will play in Class 5A region six during the 2017 season.

       The Wildcats should be in contention for a playoff spot in region six this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

      Senior Levi Snider returns after rushing for 566 yards on 54 carries and scoring 6 touchdowns. On defense he collected 87 tackles.

      The defense returns Senior defender Jared White who registered 5 sacks for yards in losses last season.

       The Wildcats open the 2017 season at home against non-region opponent Weaver on Friday, August 25 at Robert W. Reid Stadium. Last year the Weaver Bearcats finished with an overall record of 9-4 and in fourth place in Class 3A region five. The Bearcats lost in the quarter-finals round of the Class 3A playoffs to Piedmont by a score of 52-28.

       Hayden and Weaver have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Wildcats have a 0-2-0 record against the Bearcats. They last met in 2016 with Weaver winning by a score of 42-21.
