Geraldine completed the 2016 season with a 5-6 record. With their 4-2 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 3A region seven, the Bulldogs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. Geraldine's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Lauderdale County by a score of 55-16. Geraldine took a step backwards last year with their first losing season since 2011. Since 2010, Geraldine has gone a combined 46-32. Their 59.0% winning percentage ranks 21st in Class 3A over the past seven seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Geraldine has managed to compile a record of 157-124. Their 56.0% winning percentage ranks 17th in Class 3A and 124th in the AHSAA. The Bulldogs are led by head coach Brad Waldrop who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 11-11 over the past two seasons at Geraldine. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Waldrop. Coach Waldrop's overall record as a head football coach in two season stands at 11-11 (50.0%). The Geraldine Bulldogs will play in Class 3A region seven during the 2017 season. The Bulldogs will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region seven this season. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since 2006 and are hopeful to continue that streak in 2017. The Bulldogs open the 2017 season at home against non-region opponent Fyffe on Friday, September 1 at Coolidge-Isbell Field. Last year the Fyffe Red Devils finished with an overall record of 15-0 and in first place in Class 2A region six. The Red Devils won the Class 2A State Championship last season when they defeated Aliceville by a score of 28-0 in the Super Seven finals in Auburn. Geraldine and Fyffe have met a total of 82 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 35-45-2 record against the Red Devils. They last met in 2016 with Fyffe winning by a score of 48-14. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
