 2017 Preview 

       Albertville completed the 2016 season with a 8-3 record. With their 4-2 region record and a second place finish in Class 6A region seven, the Aggies earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. Albertville's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Hartselle by a score of 21-7.

       The Aggies won as many games as in any season since 2002. The 356 points scored by the Aggies last year were a team record in a single season. The Aggies last playoff victory came during the 2002 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win.

       Since 2010, Albertville has gone a combined 36-36. Their 50.0% winning percentage ranks 36th in Class 6A over the past seven seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Albertville has managed to compile a record of 118-153. Their 44.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 6A and 246th in the AHSAA.

       The Aggies are led by head coach Dale Pruitt who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 15-7 over the past two seasons at Albertville. Under his direction the Aggies have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Pruitt.

       Coach Pruitt's overall record as a head football coach in thirty-three season stands at 264-119 (68.9%). His 264 wins rank th among active coaches in the AHSAA. Over the course of his career, Coach Pruitt's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of twenty-four times and won thirteen region championships.        The Albertville Aggies will play in Class 6A region seven during the 2017 season.

       The Aggies will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region seven this season.

      Junior running back Jacob Dendy returns after rushing for 641 yards and five touchdowns last season. He also gained 104 yards receiving.

       The Aggies open the 2017 season on the road against non-region opponent Columbia on Friday, August 25 at Milton Frank Stadium. Last year the Columbia Eagles finished with an overall record of 0-10 and in eighth place in Class 6A region eight. The Eagles closed out the regular season with a loss to Lee Huntsville by a score of 27-20.

       Albertville and Columbia have met a total of 3 times on the football field. The Aggies have a 3-0-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2016 with Albertville winning by a score of 42-13.
