 2016 Preview 


       Keith completed the 2015 season with a 4-7 record. With their 1-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 1A region four, the Bears earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Keith's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Georgiana by a score of 34-0.

       The Bears last playoff victory came during the 1995 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win.

       Since 2010, Keith has gone a combined 33-32. Their 51.0% winning percentage ranks 27th in Class 2A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Keith has managed to compile a record of 106-152. Their 41.0% winning percentage ranks 40th in Class 2A and 274th in the AHSAA.

       The Bears are led by head coach Harry Crum who is entering his sixteenth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 61-95 over the past fifteen seasons at Keith. Under his direction the Bears have qualified for the playoffs a total of seven times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Crum.

       Coach Crum's overall record as a head football coach in fifteen season stands at 61-95 (39.1%).

       The Keith Bears will play in Class 2A region four during the 2016 season. The Bears move up in classification to Class 2A. They may find the going slightly tougher with the move. Keith will face six opponents that reached the playoffs last season.

       This season, the Bears will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region four.

       The Bears open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Winterboro on Friday, August 19 at J.V. Caldwell Stadium. Last year the Winterboro Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 6-4 and in fifth place in Class 1A region five. The Bulldogs ended last season on a positive note with a win over Fayetteville by a score of 14-7 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

       Keith and Winterboro have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Bears have a 0-2-0 record against the Bulldogs. They last met in with

       Keith returns 1A All-State Senior running back Domonique Jones. He was named to the second team last season.
