Chelsea completed the 2015 season with a 7-4 record. With their 4-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 6A region three, the Hornets earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Chelsea's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Blount by a score of 41-28. It marked the first time since the 2011 season that the Hornets qualified for the playoffs. Since 2010, Chelsea has gone a combined 36-27. Their 57.0% winning percentage ranks 26th in Class 6A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Chelsea has managed to compile a record of 133-134. Their 50.0% winning percentage ranks 30th in Class 6A and 185th in the AHSAA. The Hornets are led by head coach Chris Elmore who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 17-14 over the past three seasons at Chelsea. Under his direction the Hornets have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Elmore. Coach Elmore's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 17-14 (54.8%). The Chelsea Hornets will play in Class 6A region three during the 2016 season. The Hornets should be in contention for a playoff spot in region three this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.
