 2026 Preview 


       Cold Springs completed the 2025 season with a 6-4 record. Last year Cold Springs just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 2A region six with a 2-4 region record.

       The Eagles improved in 2025 with their first winning season since 2015. The Eagles won as many games as in any season since 2015. The Eagles last playoff victory came during the 1993 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win.

       Since 2010, Cold Springs has gone a combined 61-104. Their 37.0% winning percentage ranks 49th in Class 2A over the past sixteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Cold Springs has managed to compile a record of 90-167. Their 35.0% winning percentage ranks 53rd in Class 2A and 316th in the AHSAA.

Head Coach:
       The Eagles are led by head coach Brendan Voce who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 19-22 over the past four seasons at Cold Springs. Under his direction the Eagles have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Voce.

Season Outlook:

       The Cold Springs Eagles will play in Class 2A region five during the 2026 season.

      

       Even with a 6-4 record the Eagles missed the playoffs in 2025. Cold Springs jumped out to a 6-1 start but faltered a little down the stretch costing them a playoff spot.

       They may fare better this year in a region where only two teams in the current lineup qualified for the playoffs last year.

       Cason Alexander rushed for 829 yards and 9 TDs and will return for his Senior season.

    The Eagles should be in contention for a playoff spot in region five this season. Hosting a first round playoff game on their home turf would be an advantage. Cold Springs missed the playoffs last year but have expectations of a return to the post season this year.

Season Opener:
       The Eagles open the 2026 season at home against non-region opponent Vinemont on Friday, August 28 at Eagle Stadium. Last year the Vinemont Eagles finished with an overall record of 6-5 and in third place in Class 3A region five. The Eagles lost in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs to Westbrook Christian by a score of 49-0.

       Cold Springs and Vinemont have met a total of 30 times on the football field. The Eagles have a 8-22-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2021 with Vinemont winning by a score of 30-6.

Bart Starr received coaching from Kentucky great Babe Parilli his senior season at Sidney Lanier in hopes of joining Bear Bryant at Kentucky. He had to settle for Alabama.
