2026 Preview

Midfield finished the 2025 season with a disappointing 3-6 record. Last year Midfield finished sixth in Class 3A region five with a 2-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.        Since 2010, Midfield has gone a combined 78-83. Their 48.4% winning percentage ranks 37th in Class 2A over the past sixteen seasons.        Over the past 25 seasons, Midfield has managed to compile a record of 142-122. Their 54.0% winning percentage ranks 20th in Class 2A and 156th in the AHSAA. Coaching Change:      Rod Isaac  leaves Midfield after serving fifteen seasons as the head coach at the school. His overall record stands at 76-75 including ten playoff appearances. The Patriots were 3-6 in 2025. 2026 Head Coach:     Lavert Andrews  was the baseball coach at Minor before accepting the head coaching job at Midfield in March. Andrews was an assistant football coach at both Midfield and Ramsay before moving to Minor. Andrews is an Ensley High School and Miles College graduate, where he also played football. Season Outlook:        The Midfield Patriots will play in Class 2A region five during the 2026 season.                   The Patriots could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region five this season with a few breaks and a little improvement. Midfield came up short of the playoffs last year but are optimistic of a return to the post season this year.

Season Opener:
       The Patriots open the 2026 season on the road against non-region opponent Fairfield on Friday, August 21 at Clements Field. Last year the Fairfield Tigers finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in sixth place in Class 4A region four. The Tigers closed out the regular season with a loss to Huffman by a score of 20-13.

       Midfield and Fairfield have met a total of 32 times on the football field. The Patriots have a 16-16-0 record against the Tigers. They last met in 2017 with Fairfield winning by a score of 42-39.
