2016 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dadeville completed the 2015 season with a 6-6 record. With their 4-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 4A region three, the Tigers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Dadeville reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Andalusia by a score of 44-26. The Tigers lost as many games as in any season since 2007. As one of the best football programs in the state since 2010, Dadeville has gone a combined 58-17. Their 77.0% winning percentage ranks 4th in Class 4A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Dadeville has managed to compile a record of 184-110. Their 63.0% winning percentage ranks 9th in Class 4A and 68th in the AHSAA. Their last losing season was 2007. The Tigers are led by head coach Richard White who is entering his seventeenth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 123-64 over the past sixteen seasons at Dadeville. Under his direction the Tigers have qualified for the playoffs a total of fourteen times. They have won four region crowns with Coach White. Coach White's overall record as a head football coach in sixteen season stands at 123-64 (65.8%). His 123 wins rank 39th among active coaches in the AHSAA. The Dadeville Tigers will play in Class 4A region three during the 2016 season. With a little luck and some improvement, the Tigers could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region three this season. Unfortunately, Dadeville finds themselves in a very competitive region with other playoff quality teams. They may need to pull off an upset or two to have any shot at the postseason. They have managed to qualify for the playoffs every year since 2007 and hopes are high to extend that streak. Quarterback Margarius Buchanan returns for his senior season after rushing for 1,538 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior last season. He also threw for 1,399 yards and another 9 touchdowns. The Tigers open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent LaFayette on Friday, August 19 at Bulldog Stadium. Last year the LaFayette Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 6-5 and in third place in Class 2A region five. The Bulldogs lost in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs to Fyffe by a score of 50-15. Dadeville and LaFayette have met a total of 52 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 32-18-2 record against the Bulldogs. They last met in 2009 with Dadeville winning by a score of 42-22. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
