With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 3A region 2, the Panthers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Wicksburg's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Gordo by a score of 42-14. Since 2010, Wicksburg has gone a combined 23-37. Their 38.0% winning percentage ranks 39th in Class 3A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Wicksburg has managed to compile a record of 114-145. Their 44.0% winning percentage ranks 37th in Class 3A and 249th in the AHSAA. The Panthers are led by head coach Josh Cox who is entering his second season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 11-10 over the past two seasons at Wicksburg. Under his direction the Panthers have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Cox. The Wicksburg Panthers will play in Class 3A region 2 during the 2016 season. The Panthers open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Geneva County on Friday, August 26 at Dixie Howell Stadium. Last year the Geneva County Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 2-7 and in seventh place in Class 2A region 2. The closed out the regular season with a loss to Slocomb by a score of 43-6. Wicksburg and Geneva County have met a total of 32 times on the football field. The Panthers have a 14-18-0 record against the Bulldogs.
