 2016 Preview

Last year Brewer finished seventh in Class 6A region 7 with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

The Patriots would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 1-18 record. Since 2010, Brewer has gone a combined 9-50. Their 15.0% winning percentage ranks 59th in Class 6A over the past six seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Brewer has not won much with a record of 64-189. Their 25.0% winning percentage ranks 58th in Class 6A and 364th in the AHSAA.

The Patriots are led by head coach Geoff Walters who is entering his first season at the helm. His team finished with a 0-10 record in his first season at Brewer. The Patriots have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Walters.

Coach Walters's overall record as a head football coach in seven seasons stands at 32-44 (42.1%). Over the course of his career, Coach Walters's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times and won two region championships.

The Patriots enter the 2016 season in the middle of a 11 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season.

The Brewer Patriots will play in Class 6A region 7 during the 2016 season.

This season, the Patriots will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in Region 7.

The Patriots open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Randolph on Friday, August 19 at James Tucker Stadium. Last year the Randolph Raiders finished with an overall record of 7-4 and in fourth place in Class 5A region 7. The Raiders lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to Wenonah by a score of 48-0.

Brewer and Randolph have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Patriots have a 2-1-1 record against the Raiders. They last met in 2016 with Randolph winning by a score of 28-2.
