 2016 Preview 


       Last year Grissom finished eighth in Class 7A region 4 with a 0-7 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The Tigers would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 1-19 record. Since 2010, the Grissom football program has struggled with a record of 6-54.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Grissom has managed to compile a record of 90-170. Their 35.0% winning percentage ranks 29th in Class 7A and 319th in the AHSAA.

       The Tigers are led by head coach Eddie Stewart who is entering his second season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 1-19 over the past two seasons at Grissom. The Tigers have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Stewart.

       Coach Stewart's overall record as a head football coach in two seasons stands at 1-19 (5.0%).

       The Tigers enter the 2016 season in the middle of a 10 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season.

      The Grissom Tigers will play in Class 7A region 4 during the 2016 season.

       This season, the Tigers will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in Region 4.

       The Tigers open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Arab on Friday, August 19 at Arab Stadium. Last year the Arab Arabian Knights finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in sixth place in Class 6A region 7. The closed out the regular season with a loss to Moody by a score of 21-7.

       Grissom and Arab have met a total of 10 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 5-5-0 record against the Arabian Knights. They last met in 2016 with Arab winning by a score of 20-7.
