Falkville completed the 2021 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Falkville just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 2A region seven with a 2-4 region record. Falkville took a step backwards last year with their first losing season since 2016. Since 2010, Falkville has gone a combined 70-59. Their 54.3% winning percentage ranks 19th in Class 2A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Falkville has managed to compile a record of 116-148. Their 44.0% winning percentage ranks 35th in Class 2A and 245th in the AHSAA. The Blue Devils are led by head coach Seth Ward who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 4-6 record in his first season at Falkville. The Blue Devils have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Ward. Coach Ward's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 4-6 (40.0%). The Falkville Blue Devils will play in Class 2A region eight during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Blue Devils remain in 2A but move from region seven over to region eight. With a little luck and some improvement, the Blue Devils could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region eight this season. Falkville came up short of the playoffs last year but are optimistic of a return to the post season this year. The Blue Devils open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Vinemont on Friday, August 19 at Eagle Stadium. Last year the Vinemont Eagles finished with an overall record of 5-6 and in fourth place in Class 3A region six. The Eagles lost in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs to Lauderdale County by a score of 28-6. Falkville and Vinemont have met a total of 46 times on the football field.
