 2022 Preview 


       Vinemont completed the 2021 season with a 5-6 record. With their 4-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 3A region six, the Eagles earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Vinemont's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Lauderdale County by a score of 28-6.

       The Eagles last playoff victory came during the 1993 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win.

       Since 2010, Vinemont has gone a combined 44-78. Their 36.1% winning percentage ranks 46th in Class 3A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Vinemont has managed to compile a record of 106-149. Their 42.0% winning percentage ranks 44th in Class 3A and 272nd in the AHSAA.




       The Eagles are led by head coach Stephen Robinson who is entering his sixth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 20-32 over the past five seasons at Vinemont. Under his direction the Eagles have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Robinson.

       Coach Robinson's overall record as a head football coach in five season stands at 20-32 (38.5%).

       The Vinemont Eagles will play in Class 3A region seven during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Eagles remain in 3A but move from region six over to region seven.

       The Eagles will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region seven this season.

       The Eagles open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Falkville on Friday, August 19 at Eagle Stadium. Last year the Falkville Blue Devils finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in fifth place in Class 2A region seven. The Blue Devils closed out the regular season with a loss to Winston County by a score of 64-22.

       Vinemont and Falkville have met a total of 46 times on the football field. The Eagles have a 26-20-0 record against the Blue Devils. They last met in 2019 with Vinemont winning by a score of 32-21.

The Super 6 State Championships began in 1996. Since then all title games were played at Legion Field in Birmingham until 2009.
