Wilson completed the 2015 season with a 6-5 record. With their 4-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 4A region eight, the Warriors earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Wilson's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Cleburne County by a score of 31-12. The Warriors last playoff victory came during the 1998 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. The defense was very stingy last season as Wilson ranked 22nd in the AHSAA. The defense allowed only 12.7 points a game. Since 2010, Wilson has gone a combined 29-33. Their 47.0% winning percentage ranks 38th in Class 4A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Wilson has managed to compile a record of 119-140. Their 46.0% winning percentage ranks 36th in Class 4A and 231st in the AHSAA. The Warriors are led by head coach Scott Brown who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 25-17 over the past four seasons at Wilson. Under his direction the Warriors have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Brown. Coach Brown's overall record as a head football coach in four season stands at 25-17 (59.5%). The Wilson Warriors will play in Class 4A region eight during the 2016 season. The Warriors will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region eight this season. The Warriors open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Sheffield on Thursday, August 18 at Walton R. Wright Stadium. Last year the Sheffield Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in fifth place in Class 3A region eight. The Bulldogs closed out the regular season with a loss to Rogers by a score of 34-14. Wilson and Sheffield have met a total of 22 times on the football field. The Warriors have a 7-15-0 record against the Bulldogs. They last met in 2009 with Sheffield winning by a score of 36-35. Wilson returns 4A All-State Senior defensive lineman Lex Morgan.
