2016 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Danville completed the 2015 season with a 5-5 record. Last year Danville just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 4A region five with a 2-4 region record. The Hawks improved in 2015 with their first winning season since 2009. The Hawks won as many games as in any season since 2009. The Hawks have not qualified for the playoffs since the 2009 season and would love to end that streak this year. The Hawks last playoff victory came during the 1994 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. Since 2010, the Danville football program has struggled with a record of 17-43. Over the past 25 seasons, Danville has not won much with a record of 89-169. Their 34.0% winning percentage ranks 53rd in Class 4A and 324th in the AHSAA. The Hawks are led by head coach Josh LouAllen who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 7-13 over the past two seasons at Danville. The Hawks have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach LouAllen. Coach LouAllen's overall record as a head football coach in two season stands at 7-13 (35.0%). The Danville Hawks will play in Class 4A region eight during the 2016 season. Following realignment, the Hawks remain in 4A but move from region five over to region eight. This season, the Hawks will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region eight. The Hawks open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Clements on Friday, August 19 at Smith-Owens Stadium. Last year the Clements Colts finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in seventh place in Class 3A region eight. The Colts closed out the regular season with a loss to Elkmont by a score of 45-31. Danville and Clements have met a total of 16 times on the football field. The Hawks have a 6-10-0 record against the Colts. They last met in 2011 with Clements winning by a score of 41-0. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
