Lexington completed the 2015 season with a 6-5 record. With their 4-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 3A region eight, the Golden Bears earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Lexington's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Piedmont by a score of 34-0. Since 2010, Lexington has gone a combined 35-31. Their 54.0% winning percentage ranks 27th in Class 3A and 140th in the AHSAA. The Golden Bears are led by head coach Jason Lard who is entering his seventh season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 35-31 over the past six seasons at Lexington. Under his direction the Golden Bears have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times. The Wildcats ended last season on a positive note with a win over Columbia by a score of 38-14 after failing to gain a playoff spot. Lexington and Central Florence have met a total of 42 times on the football field. The Golden Bears have a 17-24-1 record against the Wildcats.
