They finished region play with a 6-0 record. Fort Payne's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Briarwood by a score of 30-26.

As one of the best football programs in the state since 2010, Fort Payne has gone a combined 53-16. Their 77.0% winning percentage ranks 4th in Class 6A over the past six seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Fort Payne has managed to compile a record of 167-104. Their 62.0% winning percentage ranks 18th in Class 6A and 75th in the AHSAA. Their last losing season was 2005.

The Wildcats are led by head coach Paul Ellis who is entering his thirteenth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 101-35 over the past twelve seasons at Fort Payne. Under his direction the Wildcats have qualified for the playoffs a total of eleven times. They have won six region crowns with Coach Ellis.

Coach Ellis' overall record as a head football coach in sixteen season stands at 117-59 (66.5%). His 117 wins rank 41st among active coaches in the AHSAA.        The Fort Payne Wildcats will play in Class 6A region seven during the 2016 season.

The Wildcats enter the 2016 season having won 6 straight region games.

The Wildcats have successfully qualified for the playoffs every year since 2005 and expect to be included again when November rolls around.
