Albertville completed the 2015 season with a 7-4 record. With their 4-2 region record and a second place finish in Class 6A region seven, the Aggies earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Albertville's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Minor by a score of 37-35. The Aggies improved in 2015 with their first winning season since 2011. It marked the first time since the 2011 season that the Aggies qualified for the playoffs. The Aggies last playoff victory came during the 2002 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. The Aggies had some tough luck last season as three of their four losses were by less than eight points. Since 2010, Albertville has gone a combined 28-33. Their 46.0% winning percentage ranks 39th in Class 6A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Albertville has managed to compile a record of 110-150. Their 42.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 6A and 265th in the AHSAA. The Aggies are led by head coach Dale Pruitt who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 7-4 record in his first season at Albertville. Quarterback Wil Appleton returns for his senior season after completing 65 of 111 passes for 754 yards and 2 touchdowns as a junior last season. The Aggies open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Columbia on Friday, August 19 at McCord Field. Last year the Columbia Eagles finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in fifth place in Class 5A region eight. The Eagles closed out the regular season with a loss to Central Florence by a score of 38-14. Albertville and Columbia have met a total of 5 times on the football field.
