Last year Holtville finished seventh in Class 4A region 3 with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The defense allowed a team record 480 points last season. The Bulldogs would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 0-20 record. Since 2010, Holtville has gone a combined 11-50. Their 18.0% winning percentage ranks 57th in Class 4A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Holtville has not won much with a record of 78-180. Their 30.0% winning percentage ranks 55th in Class 4A and 343rd in the AHSAA. The Bulldogs are led by head coach Hunter Adams who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 3-37 over the past four seasons at Holtville. The Bulldogs have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Adams. Coach Adams's overall record as a head football coach in four seasons stands at 3-37 (7.5%). The Bulldogs enter the 2016 season in the middle of a 20 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season. The Holtville Bulldogs will play in Class 4A region 3 during the 2016 season. This season, the Bulldogs will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in Region 3. The Bulldogs open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Marbury on Friday, August 26 at Boykin Field. Last year the Marbury Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in seventh place in Class 5A region 3. The closed out the regular season with a loss to St. James by a score of 42-22. Holtville and Marbury have met a total of 75 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 46-25-4 record against the Bulldogs.
