 2026 Preview 


       Verbena completed the 2025 season with a 6-4 record. Last year Verbena just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 1A region four with a 2-4 region record.

       Since 2010, the Verbena football program has struggled with a record of 59-104.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Verbena has not won much with a record of 84-170. Their 33.0% winning percentage ranks 47th in Class 1A and 339th in the AHSAA.

Head Coach:
       The Red Devils are led by head coach Allen Brothers who is entering his sixth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 28-24 over the past five seasons at Verbena. Under his direction the Red Devils have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Brothers. Over the course of his career, Coach Brothers' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times .

Season Outlook:

       The Verbena Red Devils will play in Class 1A region four during the 2026 season.

      

      

    The Red Devils should be in contention for a playoff spot in region four this season. Hosting a first round playoff game on their home turf would be an advantage. Verbena missed the playoffs last year but have expectations of a return to the post season this year.




Season Opener:
       The Red Devils open the 2026 season at home against non-region opponent Zion Chapel on Friday, August 28 at Red Devil Stadium. Last year the Zion Chapel Rebels finished with an overall record of 6-5 and in fourth place in Class 2A region three. The Rebels lost in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs to Lanett by a score of 42-6.

       This will be the second meeting between Verbena and Zion Chapel on the football field. The Red Devils have a 1-0-0 record against the Rebels. They last met in with
