2026 Preview

Billingsley completed the 2025 season with a 5-6 record. With their 4-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 1A region four, the Bears earned a spot in the playoffs in 2025. Billingsley's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Linden by a score of 20-11.        It marked the first time since the 2021 season that the Bears qualified for the playoffs.        Since 2010, Billingsley has gone a combined 81-92. Their 46.8% winning percentage ranks 34th in Class 1A over the past sixteen seasons.        Over the past 25 seasons, Billingsley has managed to compile a record of 131-139. Their 48.0% winning percentage ranks 30th in Class 1A and 201st in the AHSAA. Head Coach:        The Bears are led by head coach Lanny Jones who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 13-28 over the past four seasons at Billingsley. Under his direction the Bears have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Jones. Over the course of his career, Coach Jones' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times . Season Outlook:        The Billingsley Bears will play in Class 1A region four during the 2026 season.                   The Bears have a good shot at one of the last two playoff slots in region four this season.

Season Opener:
       The Bears open the 2026 season at home against region opponent Georgiana on Friday, September 4 at Mims Field. Last year the Georgiana Panthers finished with an overall record of 5-6 and in third place in Class 1A region two. The Panthers lost in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs to Southern Choctaw by a score of 40-20.

       Billingsley and Georgiana have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Bears have a 1-1-0 record against the Panthers. They last met in 2015 with Georgiana winning by a score of 28-0.
