2026 Preview

Thomasville completed the 2025 season with a 6-5 record. With their 4-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 3A region three, the Tigers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2025. Thomasville's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Glenwood School by a score of 43-10.        The Tigers hope to get back closer to the 11-1 record in 2024.        Since 2010, Thomasville has gone a combined 129-58. Their 69.0% winning percentage ranks 7th in Class 2A over the past sixteen seasons.        Over the past 25 seasons, Thomasville has finished a combined 214-85. Their 72.0% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class 2A and 30th in the AHSAA. Head Coach:        The Tigers are led by head coach Clint Anderson who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 36-12 over the past four seasons at Thomasville. Under his direction the Tigers have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times. They have won one region crown with Coach Anderson. Season Outlook:        The Thomasville Tigers will play in Class 2A region one during the 2026 season.        The Tigers have one of the toughest overall schedules in Class 2A. Their opponents had a combined record of 71-43 last season. That ranks 2nd in Class 2A and 27th in the AHSAA.        The Tigers slipped to 6-5 last year but still managed to grab one of the playoff spots in Class 3A. This year finds them in Region One and down one classification to 2A.     The Tigers have a good shot at one of the last two playoff slots in region one this season. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since 2019 and are hopeful to continue that streak in 2026.

Season Opener:
       The Tigers open the 2026 season at home against non-region opponent Leroy on Friday, August 21 at Anderson Field. Last year the Leroy Bears finished with an overall record of 13-1 and in first place in Class 1A region one. The Bears lost in the semi-finals round of the Class 1A playoffs to Maplesville by a score of 59-18.

       Thomasville and Leroy have met a total of 55 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 39-15-1 record against the Bears. They last met in 2025 with Leroy winning by a score of 52-34.
