Demopolis completed the 2025 season with a 6-5 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 5A region three, the Tigers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2025. Demopolis's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Elmore County by a score of 21-20. Since 2010, Demopolis has gone a combined 134-56. Their 70.5% winning percentage ranks 4th in Class 4A over the past sixteen seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Demopolis has finished a combined 230-77. Their 75.0% winning percentage ranks 2nd in Class 4A and 19th in the AHSAA. The Tigers have been successful on the football field with twenty-five winning seasons during this time. Their last losing season was 1994. Coaching Change: Ricky Woods leaves Demopolis after a single season that saw the Tigers finish 6-5. The six wins were the fewest for the Tigers since they finished with the same record back in 2011. Now Demopolis will be in search of a new leader for the fourth time in the last five seasons. The list of possible candidates should be long as the Tigers have always been winners on the football field. Thirty seasons in a row they have qualified for the playoffs and the program has amassed 698 victories on the gridiron the past 106 years. 2026 Head Coach: Dustin Goodwin returns to Demopolis where he starred on the football field for the Tigers. His head coaching career has taken him from Plainview to Chelsea and most recently to Russellville the last two seasons. His overall record stands at 50-48. Over the course of his career, Coach Goodwin's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of seven times and won one region championship. Season Outlook: The Demopolis Tigers will play in Class 4A region three during the 2026 season. Not many teams can match the success of the Demopolis Tigers over the past 30 years. All they have done is reach the playoffs every year and won more games than they lost every single season. That's a pretty good track record. A much easier non-region schedule should go a long way to a few more wins in 2026. Region Three saw possibly the fewest changes of any in the state following reclassification. The teams remain the same with the addition of Holt to the mix. A much easier non-region schedule will go a long way toward the Tigers winning a few more than the six they won in 2025. The Tigers should be in contention for a playoff spot in region three this season. Hosting a first round playoff game on their home turf would be an advantage. They have reached the playoffs every year since 1995 and will once again be in the hunt for a spot in 2026. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The Coach had this to say:
Our goal is to build a team that plays for each other. Talent will only take you so far, but commitment, consistency, and trust are what sustain success. We want to be known as a football team that is tough, disciplined, and relentless for four quarters.
br>Expectations are high because our standards are high. We don't shy away from that. We expect our players to compete with great effort, prepare with great purpose, and represent Demopolis with pride every single day.
Season Opener:
The Tigers open the 2026 season on the road against non-region opponent Northridge on Friday, August 28 at Northridge Stadium. Last year the Northridge Jaguars finished with an overall record of 5-5 and in fifth place in Class 6A region four. The Jaguars ended last season on a positive note with a win over Minor by a score of 26-25 after failing to gain a playoff spot.
Demopolis and Northridge have met a total of 5 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 4-1-0 record against the Jaguars. They last met in 2019 with Demopolis winning by a score of 13-0.
