Most playoff pairings are set as the regular season winds down. Here are a few tidbits from the tenth week of action.

  *    Washington County has quietly reeled off six consecutive shutouts this season. If you are wondering, the record is sixteen held by Florala between 1927-28 The modern record would be McKenzie with a string of nine in 1982.

  *    Luverne joins our list of 500 win teams with an overall record of 500-298-21. They become the 43rd team to accomplish the feat.

  *    Jim Addison, head football coach at Houston Academy joins the 100 win club with an overall record of 100-71. He also served as the head coach at Dothan (1994-2002)

  *    Clay-Chalkville defeated Gardendale 45-20 on Friday night. The Cougars have a string of games where they have scored at least 20 points that has reached 56 straight. They are currently tied for the state record held by Hoover.

  *   Edgewood Academy added to their impressive streak. They have scored more than 20 points in 53 consecutive games following a 55-0 victory over Ashford Academy.

  *   Dale County with a string of ten consecutive victories retains the lead following a 49-0 shutout of Abbeville. Eighteen other teams are tied for second with nine wins in a row.

  *   Edgewood Academy leads the AISA school with a 54 game winning streak.

  *   Butler suffered another loss. The Rebels have now lost 38 consecutive games after falling to Fairview 33-0. The streak is not close to the longest in state history behind R.C. Hatch at 68 losses in a row.

  *   Bullock County has also lost 39 consecutive region games following a 48-8 loss to Catholic Montgomery.

  *   Maplesville rolled past Akron 61-0 and extended their regular season winning streak of 23 games. Edgewood Academy leads the AISA with a string of 41 straight victories on their home field.

  *   Tanner has a string of 42 consecutive games in which they have come out a winner in region play after defeating Falkville 77-24 this week. 

  *   Maplesville has also won 39 consecutive home games.

  *   Trinity, following a slow start has rebounded to finish the regular season with a 5-5 record and will need to win a first round game to extend their streak of 32 straight winning seasons. The Wildcats last suffered through a losing season way back in 1981 when they finished with a 4-6 record. After starting the season 1-5, they are making a valiant effort to continue the streak.

  *   The T.R. Miller Tigers have an amazing streak of 351 games without being shutout after taking the week off.
