Hillcrest completed the 2015 season with a 8-4 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 6A region four, the Patriots earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Hillcrest reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Opelika by a score of 48-0. Since 2010, Hillcrest has gone a combined 50-21. Their 70.0% winning percentage ranks 12th in Class 6A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Hillcrest has managed to compile a record of 155-125. Their 55.0% winning percentage ranks 23rd in Class 6A and 134th in the AHSAA. The Patriots are led by head coach Sam Adams who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 17-8 over the past two seasons at Hillcrest. Under his direction the Patriots have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. The Patriots open the 2016 season on a neutral field against non-region opponent Demopolis on Thursday, August 18 at Cramton Bowl. Last year the Demopolis Tigers finished with an overall record of 10-3 and in first place in Class 5A region four. The Tigers lost in the quarter-finals round of the Class 5A playoffs to St. Pauls by a score of 35-13. Hillcrest and Demopolis have met a total of 23 times on the football field. The Patriots have a 15-8-0 record against the Tigers. They last met in 2014 with Hillcrest winning by a score of 39-29. Hillcrest returns 6A All-State Senior running back Brian Robinson. He was named to the first team last season. The Patriots also return Senior defensive back Carson Williams. He was named to the honorable mention team.
