 2016 Preview 


       Brookwood finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 1-9 record. Last year Brookwood finished seventh in Class 6A region four with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The Panthers lost as many games as in any season since 2007. The Panthers have not qualified for the playoffs since the 2011 season and would love to end that streak this year. They have never won a playoff game in the school's history.

       The offense struggled putting points on the score board as Brookwood averaged scoring just 9.8 points a game.

       Since 2010, Brookwood has gone a combined 22-39. Their 36.0% winning percentage ranks 46th in Class 6A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Brookwood has not won much with a record of 66-186. Their 26.0% winning percentage ranks 57th in Class 6A and 361st in the AHSAA. The Panthers have struggled on the football field with only four winning seasons during this time.

       The Panthers are led by head coach Tracy Dunn who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 1-9 record in his first season at Brookwood. The Panthers have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Dunn.

       Coach Dunn's overall record as a head football coach in fourteen season stands at 34-108 (23.9%). Over the course of his career, Coach Dunn's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times .

       The Brookwood Panthers will play in Class 6A region four during the 2016 season.

       The Panthers enter the 2016 season in the middle of a 9 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season.

       This season, the Panthers will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region four.

       The Panthers open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent West Blocton on Friday, August 19 at Tiger Field. Last year the West Blocton Tigers finished with an overall record of 5-6 and in fourth place in Class 4A region four. The Tigers lost in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs to Andalusia by a score of 48-0.

       Brookwood and West Blocton have met a total of 68 times on the football field. The Panthers have a 29-36-3 record against the Tigers. They last met in 2005 with West Blocton winning by a score of 35-20.
