 2016 Preview

Baldwin County completed the 2015 season with a 5-5 record. Last year Baldwin County just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 6A region one with a 4-4 region record.

The Tigers improved in 2015 with their first winning season since 2009. The Tigers won as many games as in any season since 2009. The Tigers have not qualified for the playoffs since the 2007 season and would love to end that streak this year. The Tigers last playoff victory came during the 2003 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win.

Since 2010, the Baldwin County football program has struggled with a record of 11-49.

Over the past 25 seasons, Baldwin County has managed to compile a record of 119-146. Their 45.0% winning percentage ranks 40th in Class 6A and 238th in the AHSAA.

The Tigers are led by head coach Nathan McDaniel who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 9-11 over the past two seasons at Baldwin County. The Tigers have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach McDaniel.

Coach McDaniel's overall record as a head football coach in two season stands at 9-11 (45.0%).

The Baldwin County Tigers will play in Class 6A region one during the 2016 season.

With a little luck and some improvement, the Tigers could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region one this season. Baldwin County has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2007 but hope to return to the post season this year.

The Tigers open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Northview on Friday, August 19 at Simmons Field. Last year the Northview Cougars finished with an overall record of 4-7 and in third place in Class 6A region two. The Cougars lost in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs to Hillcrest Tuscaloosa by a score of 36-15.

Baldwin County and Northview have met a total of 12 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 4-8-0 record against the Cougars. They last met in 2013 with Northview winning by a score of 52-30.
