Northview completed the 2015 season with a 4-7 record. With their 4-3 region record and a third place finish in Class 6A region two, the Cougars earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Northview's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Hillcrest Tuscaloosa by a score of 36-15. It marked the first time since the 2000 season that the Cougars qualified for the playoffs. The Cougars last playoff victory came during the 1994 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. Since 2010, Northview has gone a combined 20-41. Their 33.0% winning percentage ranks 49th in Class 6A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Northview has managed to compile a record of 95-159. Their 37.0% winning percentage ranks 49th in Class 6A and 304th in the AHSAA. The Cougars are led by head coach LeBrian Stewart who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 16-25 over the past four seasons at Northview. Under his direction the Cougars have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Stewart. Coach Stewart's overall record as a head football coach in seven season stands at 19-52 (26.8%). Over the course of his career, Coach Stewart's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time . The Northview Cougars will play in Class 6A region two during the 2016 season. The Cougars should be in contention for a playoff spot in region two this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game. The Cougars open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Baldwin County on Friday, August 19 at Simmons Field. Last year the Baldwin County Tigers finished with an overall record of 5-5 and in fifth place in Class 6A region one. The Tigers ended last season on a positive note with a win over Robertsdale by a score of 21-18 after failing to gain a playoff spot. Northview and Baldwin County have met a total of 12 times on the football field. The Cougars have a 8-4-0 record against the Tigers. They last met in 2013 with Northview winning by a score of 52-30.
