 2016 Preview 


       With their 4-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 5A region 6, the Bulldogs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Anniston's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Russellville by a score of 10-7.

       Since 2010, Anniston has gone a combined 35-32. Their 52.0% winning percentage ranks 28th in Class 4A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Anniston has managed to compile a record of 148-125. Their 54.0% winning percentage ranks 20th in Class 4A and 146th in the AHSAA.

       The Bulldogs are led by head coach Eddie Bullock who is entering his sixth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 35-32 over the past six seasons at Anniston. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times. They have won two region crowns with Coach Bullock.

       Coach Bullock's overall record as a head football coach in six seasons stands at 35-32 (52.2%). Over the course of his career, Coach Bullock's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times and won two region championships.

      

      The Anniston Bulldogs will play in Class 4A region 5 during the 2016 season. The Bulldogs may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class 5A to 4A. They will compete in region 5 this year.

       The Bulldogs have a good chance to earn one of the playoff slots for Region 5 this season.

       The Bulldogs open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Sylacauga on Friday, August 26 at Lott/Mosby Memorial Stadium. Last year the Sylacauga Aggies finished with an overall record of 7-4 and in third place in Class 5A region 3. The Aggies lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to St. Pauls by a score of 42-17.

       Anniston and Sylacauga have met a total of 15 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 9-6-0 record against the Aggies. They last met in 2016 with Sylacauga winning by a score of 36-35.
