Alabama All-Star Game



          1965

      The North came up with an explosive ground attack in the second half to beat the South 13-6 and uphold its favorites' role in the 18th Annual High School All-Star Football Game at Denny Stadium. The only Rebel points came from the talented toe of Opp's Jimmy Jones. Jones booted two field goals, one a long 47 yards, as the Southerners fought their favored foes to a 6-6 tie in the first half.

      Davis scored for the North on a three-yard plunge. Contrary to pre-game speculation, most of the North offense came on the ground. A bad snap on a punt gave the North its first opportunity in the second quarter. Columbiana's Conrad Fowler retrieved the ball from the end zone and elected to run it out. He was stopped at the three, and Bill Davis took it in for the North two plays later on the first play of the second quarter.
