Week Three Tidbits & Records

Week three of the 2025 football season saw most every team starting region play. Here are a few tidbits from this past week's games.

   *    Are we really approaching week four already? Over the next two weeks we will see a lot of the regions begin to take shape as the best teams rise to the top in hopes of hosting a playoff game come November.

   *   Look for the Barber Shop Guru predictions on Tuesday. The guys went 8-4 last week and will be out to post a perfect record this coming week. Another great job by the gang. You can test your luck in beating them by joining us in the forums.

   *   Since most teams are playing in state now let's look at Alabama's record against other states. Overall the AHSAA schools are 15-9. Here are the records against other states. Georgia (3-5), Florida (8-4), Mississippi (3-0) and South Carolina (1-0).

   *  Big games anyone? How about Hewitt-Trussville running through Vestavia Hills by the tune of 28-14. Hillcrest defeating Hoover 34-26 for the first time in history. Corner getting by Wenonah 28-13 in a close game until late.

   *  Shockers and upsets? Eufaula upset Catholic Montgomery 35-24. Dothan High just simply destroyed Enterprise 69-28 with over 600 yards rushing. Montgomery Academy continues to roll as they beat Houston Academy 48-7. Millry took down Sweet Water 25-12.

   *  Comebacks? Wadley was down 21-0 in the first quarter before setting a record with 56 second quarter points in route to a 56-27 victory over Fayetteville. Moody and Jacksonville were tied 14-14 at the half before the 411 Boys pulled away to win 42-21.

   *  Fyffe has been ranked by the ASWA for an amazing 178 consecutive polls dating back to the 2009 season. The Red Devils opened the 2025 season as the #3 team in 3A before dropping to #6 last week.
