2026 Preview

Lawrence County completed the 2025 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Lawrence County finished sixth in Class 5A region seven with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.        The Red Devils last playoff victory came during the 2001 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win.        Lawrence County was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Red Devils want to be competitive. They only averaged 16.6 points a game.        Since 2010, Lawrence County has gone a combined 61-105. Their 36.7% winning percentage ranks 50th in Class 4A over the past sixteen seasons.        Over the past 25 seasons, Lawrence County has managed to compile a record of 92-166. Their 36.0% winning percentage ranks 53rd in Class 4A and 309th in the AHSAA. Head Coach:        The Red Devils are led by head coach Brett Voss who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 4-6 record in his first season at Lawrence County. The Red Devils have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Voss. Season Outlook:        The Lawrence County Red Devils will play in Class 4A region seven during the 2026 season.        Lawrence County will face six opponents that reached the playoffs last season.        Lawrence County drops down to Class 4A this fall. That's the good news for Red Devil fans. The bad news is that there are a bunch of really good teams residing in the region.        Tavian Jones rushed for 1,080 yards and 9 TDs and will return for his Sophomore season.     This season, the Red Devils will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region seven.

Season Opener:
       The Red Devils open the 2026 season at home against non-region opponent East Lawrence on Friday, August 21 at Red Devil Stadium. Last year the East Lawrence Eagles finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in ninth place in Class 4A region seven. The Eagles closed out the regular season with a loss to Brooks by a score of 56-20.

       Lawrence County and East Lawrence have met a total of 41 times on the football field. The Red Devils have a 26-15-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2025 with Lawrence County winning by a score of 6-14.
