2023 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Red Level completed the 2022 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Red Level just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 1A region two with a 4-4 region record. The Tigers have not qualified for the playoffs since the 2010 season and would love to end that streak this year. Red Level was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Tigers want to be competitive. They only averaged 14.5 points a game. Since 2010, the Red Level football program has struggled with a record of 31-98. Over the past 25 seasons, Red Level has managed to compile a record of 102-160. Their 39.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 1A and 301st in the AHSAA. The Tigers are led by head coach Kenny Skipper who is entering his seventh season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 16-42 over the past six seasons at Red Level. The Tigers have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Skipper. The Tigers could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region two this season with a few breaks and a little improvement. Red Level has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2010 but hope to return to the post season this year. The Tigers open the 2023 season at home against region opponent Florala on Friday, September 1 at Crystal Spring Park. Last year the Florala Wildcats finished with an overall record of 7-4 and in fourth place in Class 1A region two. The Wildcats lost in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs to Millry by a score of 55-7. Red Level and Florala have met a total of 70 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 28-42-0 record against the Wildcats. They last met in 2022 with Florala winning by a score of 34-19. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
