 2023 Preview 


       Cornerstone Rainsville finished the 2022 season with a disappointing 3-4 record.

      

       Cornerstone Rainsville is a relatively new football program having fielded a team only five seasons. They have managed a record of 13-23 over the past five years.




       The Eagles are led by head coach Jeff Nelson who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 8-8 over the past two seasons at Cornerstone Rainsville. The Eagles have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Nelson.

      

       The Eagles open the 2023 season at home against non-region opponent Coosa Valley Academy on Friday, August 25. Last year the Coosa Valley Academy Rebels finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in fifth place in Class A region one. The Rebels ended last season on a positive note with a win over Sparta Academy by a score of 13-12 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

       This will be the first meeting between Cornerstone Rainsville and Coosa Valley Academy on the football field.
