Tabernacle's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Jacksonville Christian by a score of 46-32. Since 2010, Tabernacle has gone a combined 83-46. He has compiled a record of 13-13 over the past three seasons at Tabernacle. Under his direction the Torches have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Chase. The Torches open the 2023 season at home against non-region opponent Hillcrest Evergreen on Friday, August 25 at Moncrief Park. Last year the Hillcrest Evergreen Jaguars finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in fifth place in Class 3A region one. The Jaguars closed out the regular season with a loss to Daphne by a score of 34-14.
