 2022 Preview 


       Geraldine completed the 2021 season with a 7-4 record. With their 5-1 region record and a third place finish in Class 3A region seven, the Bulldogs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Geraldine's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Ohatchee by a score of 34-13.

       Since 2010, Geraldine has gone a combined 80-56. Their 58.8% winning percentage ranks 21st in Class 3A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Geraldine has managed to compile a record of 160-115. Their 58.0% winning percentage ranks 19th in Class 3A and 113rd in the AHSAA.




       The Bulldogs are led by head coach Michael Davis who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 7-4 record in his first season at Geraldine. The Bulldogs saw improvement from a 6-5 record the season before coach Davis arrived. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Davis.

       Coach Davis' overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 7-4 (63.6%).

       The Geraldine Bulldogs will play in Class 3A region six during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Bulldogs remain in 3A but move from region seven over to region six.

       The Bulldogs will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region six this season. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since 2006 and are hopeful to continue that streak in 2022.

       The Bulldogs open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Coosa Christian on Thursday, August 18 at Phillip Ellen Stadium. Last year the Coosa Christian Conquerors finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in fifth place in Class 1A region seven. The Conquerors closed out the regular season with a loss to Whitesburg Christian by a score of 35-28.

       Geraldine and Coosa Christian have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 2-0-0 record against the Conquerors. They last met in with
