2022 Preview | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Fultondale finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 1-8 record. Last year Fultondale finished sixth in Class 4A region six with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The offense struggled putting points on the score board as Fultondale averaged scoring just 12.3 points a game. The Wildcats would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 2-17 record. Since 2010, Fultondale has gone a combined 83-51. Their 61.9% winning percentage ranks 15th in Class 4A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Fultondale has managed to compile a record of 134-136. Their 50.0% winning percentage ranks 28th in Class 4A and 186th in the AHSAA. The Wildcats are led by head coach Kendrick Cook who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 1-8 record in his first season at Fultondale. The Wildcats have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Cook. Coach Cook's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 1-8 (11.1%). Building depth at every position is the key for the Wildcats in 2022. A fast paced offense and improved numbers will certainly help coach Cook to improve on last season. The Fultondale Wildcats will play in Class 4A region six during the 2022 season. The Wildcats enter the 2022 season in the middle of a 6 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season. This season, the Wildcats will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region six. The Wildcats open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Holtville on Friday, August 19 at Boykin-Chapman Field. Last year the Holtville Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 5-6 and in fourth place in Class 5A region four. The Bulldogs lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to Pike Road by a score of 37-0. Fultondale and Holtville have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Wildcats have a 0-2-0 record against the Bulldogs. They last met in with | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
