Coosa Valley Academy finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 3-8 record. With their 3-2 region record and a third place finish in Class A region one, the Rebels earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Coosa Valley Academy's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Sparta Academy by a score of 42-14. It marked the first time since the 2018 season that the Rebels qualified for the playoffs. The Rebels would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 3-17 record. Since 2010, Coosa Valley Academy has gone a combined 37-88. Their 29.6% winning percentage ranks 9th in Class A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Coosa Valley Academy has not won much with a record of 77-167. Their 32.0% winning percentage ranks 9th in Class A and 26th in the AISA. The Rebels are led by head coach Vince DiLorenzo who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 22-14 over the past three seasons at Coosa Valley Academy. Under his direction the Rebels have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times. They have won one region crown with Coach DiLorenzo. Coach DiLorenzo led Gadsden to a state championship in 2010. Coach DiLorenzo's overall record as a head football coach in twenty-four season stands at 173-97 (64.1%). His 173 wins rank 2nd among active coaches in the AISA. Over the course of his career, Coach DiLorenzo's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of eighteen times and won seven region championships. Coach DiLorenzo won two state championships prior to arriving at Coosa Valley Academy, the last coming in 1991 at Gadsden. The Coosa Valley Academy Rebels will play in Class A region one during the 2022 season. The Rebels should be in contention for a playoff spot in region one this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game. The Rebels open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Abbeville Christian on Friday, August 19 at Don Greene/Rebels Stadium. Last year the Abbeville Christian Generals finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in fifth place in Class A region one. The Generals closed out the regular season with a loss to Macon-East Academy by a score of 49-13. Coosa Valley Academy and Abbeville Christian have met a total of 10 times on the football field. The Rebels have a 4-6-0 record against the Generals.
