 2022 Preview 


       Lakeside completed the 2021 season with a 4-6 record. With their 2-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class A region one, the Chiefs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Lakeside's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Jackson Academy by a score of 42-12.

       Since 2010, Lakeside has gone a combined 58-69. Their 45.7% winning percentage ranks 6th in Class A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Lakeside has managed to compile a record of 112-146. Their 43.0% winning percentage ranks 7th in Class A and 21st in the AISA.




       The Chiefs are led by head coach Tom Clements who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 12-27 over the past four seasons at Lakeside. Under his direction the Chiefs have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Clements.

       Coach Clements' overall record as a head football coach in six season stands at 16-43 (27.1%). Over the course of his career, Coach Clements' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time .

       The Lakeside Chiefs will play in Class A region one during the 2022 season.

       With a little luck and some improvement, the Chiefs could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region one this season. They have managed to qualify for the playoffs every year since 2015 and hopes are high to extend that streak.

       The Chiefs open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Southern Prep Academy on Friday, August 19 at Reeves Field. Last year the Southern Prep Academy Fighting Rangers finished with an overall record of 9-4 and in place in Class 8 Man region twelve. The Fighting Rangers lost in the second round of the Class 8 Man playoffs to Evangel Christian Alabaster by a score of 42-20.

       Lakeside and Southern Prep Academy have met a total of 3 times on the football field. The Chiefs have a 2-1-0 record against the Fighting Rangers. They last met in with
