 2022 Preview 


       Coosa Christian completed the 2021 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Coosa Christian just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 1A region seven with a 3-3 region record.

       The Conquerors last playoff victory came during the 2004 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win.

       Since 2010, the Coosa Christian football program has struggled with a record of 37-86.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Coosa Christian has managed to compile a record of 98-152. Their 39.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 1A and 301st in the AHSAA.




       The Conquerors are led by head coach Mark Obryant who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 7-13 over the past two seasons at Coosa Christian. The Conquerors have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Obryant.

       Coach Obryant's overall record as a head football coach in five season stands at 24-29 (45.3%). Over the course of his career, Coach Obryant's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times .

       The Coosa Christian Conquerors will play in Class 1A region seven during the 2022 season. The Conquerors have one of the toughest schedules in Class 1A. Their opponents had a combined record of 56-46 last season. That ranks 5th in Class 1A and 99th in the AHSAA.

       It will be an uphill battle for the Conquerors if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region seven this season.

       The Conquerors open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Geraldine on Thursday, August 18 at Phillip Ellen Stadium. Last year the Geraldine Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 7-4 and in third place in Class 3A region seven. The Bulldogs lost in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs to Ohatchee by a score of 34-13.

       Coosa Christian and Geraldine have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Conquerors have a 0-2-0 record against the Bulldogs. They last met in with
