Jackson Academy completed the 2021 season with a 10-2 record. Last year Jackson Academy captured the region two title and a number one seed in the Class A playoffs. They finished region play with a 5-0 record. Last year the Jackson Academy Eagles reached the AISA-A State Championship game only to fall just short of claiming a title. They were defeated by Lowndes Academy in the State Championship game 21-6 in Troy. Over the past two seasons the Eagles have gone 21-3 and will be looking to continue that winning tradition. Since 2010, Jackson Academy has gone a combined 79-59. Their 57.2% winning percentage ranks 2nd in Class A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Jackson Academy has managed to compile a record of 126-146. Their 46.0% winning percentage ranks 6th in Class A and 20th in the AISA. The Eagles are led by head coach Jacob Webb who is entering his seventh season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 44-24 over the past six seasons at Jackson Academy. Under his direction the Eagles have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times. They have won two region crowns with Coach Webb. Coach Webb's overall record as a head football coach in ten season stands at 63-48 (56.8%). Over the course of his career, Coach Webb's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of eight times and won three region championships. The Jackson Academy Eagles will play in Class A region two during the 2022 season. Jackson Academy enters the 2022 season with a string of 7 consecutive wins on their home field at McCorquodale Stadium. The Eagles should be considered one of the favorites for the region two championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs. The Eagles have successfully qualified for the playoffs every year since 2012 and expect to be included again when November rolls around. The Eagles open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Monroe Academy on Friday, August 19 at McCorquodale Stadium. Last year the Monroe Academy Volunteers finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in fifth place in Class AAA region two. The Volunteers closed out the regular season with a loss to Pike Liberal Arts by a score of 62-6. Jackson Academy and Monroe Academy have met a total of 26 times on the football field. The Eagles have a 8-18-0 record against the Volunteers. They last met in 2017 with Monroe Academy winning by a score of 47-14. Jackson Academy returns AISA All-State Senior defensive lineman Walker Whitehead. He was named to the first team last season. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
