 2016 Preview

B.C. Rain finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 3-6 record. Last year B.C. Rain just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 5A region one with a 2-4 region record.

B.C. Rain was inconsistent offensively last year and that needs to pick up if the Red Raiders want to be competitive. They only averaged 18.7 points a game.

Since 2010, the B.C. Rain football program has struggled with a record of 18-44.

Over the past 25 seasons, B.C. Rain has managed to compile a record of 114-147. Their 44.0% winning percentage ranks 41st in Class 6A and 246th in the AHSAA. Their last winning season was 2005.

The Red Raiders are led by head coach Tellis Stone who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 11-21 over the past three seasons at B.C. Rain. Under his direction the Red Raiders have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Stone.

Coach Stone's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 11-21 (34.4%).

The B.C. Rain Red Raiders will play in Class 6A region one during the 2016 season. The Red Raiders move up in classification to Class 6A. They may find the going slightly tougher with the move.

It will be an uphill battle for the Red Raiders if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region one this season.

The Red Raiders open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Chickasaw on Friday, August 19 at Trimmier Park. Last year the Chickasaw Chieftains finished with an overall record of 4-7 and in fourth place in Class 1A region one. The Chieftains lost in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs to Notasulga by a score of 22-7.

This will be the second meeting between B.C. Rain and Chickasaw on the football field. The Red Raiders have a 1-0-0 record against the Chieftains. They last met in with
