2016 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
LeFlore finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year LeFlore finished sixth in Class 6A region one with a 3-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The offense struggled putting points on the score board as LeFlore averaged scoring just 13.3 points a game. Since 2010, LeFlore has gone a combined 22-42. Their 34.0% winning percentage ranks 47th in Class 6A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, LeFlore has managed to compile a record of 109-154. Their 41.0% winning percentage ranks 45th in Class 6A and 276th in the AHSAA. Their last winning season was 2010. The Rattlers are led by head coach Anthony Shamburger who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 13-29 over the past four seasons at LeFlore. Under his direction the Rattlers have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Shamburger. Coach Shamburger's overall record as a head football coach in nine season stands at 38-59 (39.2%). Over the course of his career, Coach Shamburger's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times and won one region championship. The LeFlore Rattlers will play in Class 6A region one during the 2016 season. It will be an uphill battle for the Rattlers if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region one this season. The Rattlers open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Williamson on Thursday, August 18 at Prichard Stadium. Last year the Williamson Lions finished with an overall record of 5-6 and in fourth place in Class 5A region one. The Lions lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to Beauregard by a score of 44-20. LeFlore and Williamson have met a total of 56 times on the football field. The Rattlers have a 20-35-1 record against the Lions. They last met in 2015 with Williamson winning by a score of 24-18. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
