Alabama High School Football Head Coaches

Trent Taylor

Trent Taylor graduated from Andalusia High School and the University of Mobile.

His first coaching job came at Baldwin County High school in 1987. He spent one year there before accepting the head coaching position at Kinston High School in southeast Alabama.

He spent two seasons at Kinston before moving over to Straughn in the fall of 1990. He has remained with the program ever since. Over the past 25 years his teams at Straughn have combined for a 165-104 record with 19 playoff appearances. His teams have also won four region titles.

Coach Taylor was named Class 3A Coach of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association in 2012.

Following the 2014 season, Coach Taylor returned to Andalusia high school to assume the head coaching duties for the Bulldogs.

His overall record is 227-132 in 31 years of service as a head football coach in Alabama.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Spence McCracken won a record 21 Area/Region Championships at Montgomery Academy, Lee Montgomery and Opelika during his coaching career.
