Week 8

Just two more weeks of football action prior to the playoffs for many teams. Most region championship races are beginning to take shape in each classification. Here are some interesting facts from this week's games.

   *   Dadeville with 25 and Tanner with 24 currently hold on to the top spots for consecutive games won on their home turf. Both teams won home games this past Friday night. Dadeville hung on to defeat a strong Handley team 52-46 while Tanner thrashed Hatton 60-6.

   *   Dadeville and Tanner also continue to share the lead with thirty-four game regular season game winning streaks.

   *   Jackson beat Citronelle 40-6 to increase their winning streak to a state leading twenty-three games in a row.

   *   Central Hayneville continues to top our list with forty-eight consecutive losses after a 6-50 loss to New Brockton.

   *   Central Hayneville also has a streak of thirty-six consecutive region losses dating back to 2007.

   *   Undefeated T.R. Miller Tigers defeated Straughn 19-17 and have scored in 325 consecutive games.

   *   Tanner also holds the state lead with a streak of twenty-six consecutive region wins. Monroe Academy has won twenty-nine in a row in AISA. Other notables in AHSAA include.... Dadeville (24), Maplesville (23) and Piedmont (23).

   *   Keith and Muscle Shoals both have started the 2012 season with eight consecutive wins which is a first in the history of each school.

Note: The new schools will not be included in team records because of the obvious reasons.

* Madison County set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Ardmore 75-14.
* Northside set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Greene County 62-8.
* Sipsey Valley set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Holt 63-30.
* Autauga Academy set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Springwood 42-21.

Points allowed in a game

* Lakeside set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Chambers Academy 35-9.
* Shelby County set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Homewood 9-69.
* Ardmore set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Madison County 14-75.
* St. Clair County set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Oneonta 16-63.
* West Morgan set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Madison Academy 0-57.

Margin of Victory game

* Madison County set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Ardmore 75-14.
* Northside set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Greene County 62-8.
* Sipsey Valley set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Holt 63-30.

Margin of Defeat game

* Holy Spirit set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to Maplesville 0-64.
* Shelby County set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to Homewood 9-69.
* West Morgan set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to Madison Academy 0-57.

* Columbia set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Scottsboro 28-55.
* Dadeville set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by defeating Handley 52-46.
* Handley set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Dadeville 46-52.
* Lakeside set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by defeating Chambers Academy 35-9.
* Madison County set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by defeating Ardmore 75-14.
