Week 8

Eight weeks down through the 2011 season and a few tidbits on this past weekend's action. Playoff time is just around the corner.

   *  Daphne and Thomasville all continued their state leading 23 game winning streaks.

   *  Central Hayneville continues to top our list with thirty-nine consecutive losses as they had the week off.

   *  Crenshaw Christian has won twenty-seven regular season games in a row.

   *   Handley won at home so their streak goes to thirty-one home wins in a row.

   *   Cold Springs has lost thirty-one straight region games.

   *   The T.R. Miller Tigers have scored in 313 consecutive games.

   *  Crenshaw Christian holds the state lead with 40 consecutive region wins. Hamilton has the longest streak in AHSAA at twenty-seven games.



Note: The new schools will not be included in team records because of the obvious reasons.

 * Alexandria set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Locust Fork 74-37.
 * Berry Fayette set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Marion County 68-50.
 * Shoals Christian set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Phillips Bear Creek 64-20.
 

Points allowed in a game

 * Brilliant set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Lynn 12-70.
 * Cold Springs set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Fultondale 6-70.
 * Locust Fork set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Alexandria 37-74.


Margin of Victory game

 * American Christian set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Central Hayneville 69-6.
 * Lynn set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Brilliant 70-12.


Margin of Defeat game

 * Cold Springs set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to Fultondale 6-70.
 * Holy Spirit set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to John Essex 0-58.
 * Southside Selma set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to Bibb County 7-78.
 * Sunshine set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to Pickens County 0-74.

 * Alexandria set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by defeating Locust Fork 74-37.
