 2023 Preview 


       Priceville completed the 2022 season with a 11-1 record. The Bulldogs cruised through the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record going into the post season. Last year Priceville captured the region eight title and a number one seed in the Class 4A playoffs. They finished region play with a 7-0 record. It was the first region championship for the Bulldogs since the 2015 season. Priceville reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Oneonta by a score of 34-20.

       No team at Priceville ever won more games in a season than the eleven victories last year. The 496 points scored by the Bulldogs last year were a team record in a single season.

       The high-scoring Priceville offense ranked 21st in the AHSAA. They averaged 41.3 points a game.

       Over the past two seasons the Bulldogs have Finished 21-3 and will be looking to continue that winning tradition. Since 2010, Priceville has gone a combined 60-77. Their 43.8% winning percentage ranks 40th in Class 4A over the past thirteen seasons.

       Over the past 21 seasons, Priceville has managed to compile a record of 89-122. Their 42.0% winning percentage ranks 43rd in Class 4A and 275th in the AHSAA.




       The Bulldogs are led by head coach Chris Foster who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 35-11 over the past four seasons at Priceville. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times. They have won one region crown with Coach Foster.

       The Bulldogs just keep setting milestone records under Coach Foster. Last year they finished undefeated in the regular season and won eleven games for the first time in school history. There next goal this season will be to advance past the second round of the playoffs.

       The Bulldogs enter the 2023 season riding a 17 game regular season winning streak. They have won 13 straight games on their home turf at Bulldog Stadium.

       The Bulldogs are considered one of the favorites for the region eight championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs.

       The Bulldogs open the 2023 season on the road against non-region opponent Plainview on Friday, August 25 at Plainview Stadium. Last year the Plainview Bears finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in sixth place in Class 3A region six. The Bears ended last season on a positive note with a win over New Hope by a score of 36-27 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

       Priceville and Plainview have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 1-3-0 record against the Bears. They last met in 2022 with Priceville winning by a score of 20-8.

       Priceville lost 4A All-State  offensive lineman Blaxton Royster to graduation. He was named to the first team last season. Also graduating were teammates linebacker Jake Langlois and running back Mason Cartee.

Morris Higginbotham coached three different teams to divisional state championships in the 1950s. He won titles at Walnut Grove in 1952, West Blocton in 1955 and Enterprise in 1960.
